Super Fun 2009 Christmas

Aside from several singapore parties and blue silver celebration with my man, 2009 christmas is indeed super fun as I was able to spend it again with my one and only son. Sharing to you guys our various mother and son bonding as we await for December 25 grand day...

December 20/ Sunday:

Straight from airport, we went malate church to attend "simbang gabi". Then proceeded to aristocrat restaurant for an early light breakfast.
.
waiting to be seated

this is how my family define "light" breakfast. hehe...

went to aristocrat bakery section and bought several pastries before heading home

Woke up from my afternoon nap when my mom said I have a mini-welcome party at 7pm. Several neighbors and some of our taxi business employees gather over simple filipino dishes and local beers as we all watch kids come and go infront of our house to do caroling.

December 21/ Monday:

Nieces, nephews and little cousins arrived early morning to stay with us the whole week. I actually invited them as it's fun to be surrounded with kids during this festive season. Together with my whole family, we all went bowling, timezone game arcade, movie and of course - foodtripping! So fun that I already lost track of how many times we bought ice cream cone, cotton candy and popcorn (take note the this is on top of our official lunch and afternoon snack. hehe...)

Reached home by 8pm and spent the rest of the night wrapping all gifts. I made sure Baby Zy will see all of his presents once he wake up the next day. =)

December 22 / Tuesday:

Our family organized a small christmas party with our taxi business employees and their families at Paradiso Terrestre Restaurant. We played group games and raffle give-aways. Best part of it all was when my mom announced that everybody will get a bonus in the form of 1-day-no-taxi-boundary/ fee. Wow! I envy this guys as I myslef don't even have that extra perks when I decided to relocate in singapore. lol! Oh, and before I forget, this party is also to celebrate my youngest sister's 13th birthday. Happy birthday our everdearest Carla! We love you!

December 23/ Wednesday:

Woke up with bigtime hangover but still manage to go out and do grocery shopping in preparation for christmas eve feast the next day. Then organize a rooftop camping con movie marathon in the evening. It was suppose to be horror-theme but I backed-out on the very first scene of "shake, rattle and roll" tagalog movie. I pressed the stop button then said "guys, let's just watch comedy ones instead. Hahahaha!

December 24/ Thursday:

It's the day before christmas and mommy ybeth & baby zyrus has full-freedom to go out and roam around the village. we did brisk walking early morning and was personally amazed how many bakery outlet, tailoring shop and salon parlor we have nearby our home. Funny that it took me more than a year to do this here in our new provincial home. Noght time came and we did caroling too! Would you belive that? I ask Baby Zy's nanny to go to 3 close neighbors, give 100pesos each and instruct them to give it to my son after singing. I did that because since I arrive, he's been requesting and asking permission to do it. He envy the kids going infront of our house singing. So as a supportive loving mommy, I bough him maracas and made sure he won't receive coins after his performance. Wise mother korek? Wink!

Btw, he also open all his gifts before 12midnight as he keeps on bugging me to see everything as early as monday.

3 out of the 7 santa gifts for goodboy baby zy :)

Food and cocktail galore as our home celebrate this very important occasion. Even baby zy was up and awake partying until 3am.

December 25/ Friday:

I made it point to wake up 7am to fill my son and all kids relatives' socks. Funny since I''m a little dizzy due to hang-over, I can't find where they place their socks so I just decided to put it on the table (hey, the handwritten names was made by my brother, not me ok? just fyi. lol!)

not-inside-the-sock santa's sock gifts

Entertained visitors until lunchtime then went for a family reunion/ get-together the whole afternoon. Went home 9pm and decided to see that near-by simple carnival that the village association organized. It was actually Baby Zy's first time experience see a "perya" themepark. But he really had fun, especially playing the simple gun shooting game. He even asked me to ride thier roller coaster and ferries wheel but I didn't allow it as I think it's not safe. :)

Rant Mode!

Though I'm very happy and satistied with the thnigs happennig in my life, my subconscious giving me the rights to rant a little. So please allow me to do it in a couple of sentences.

It has been a universal law that everyone is entitled to espress their own feelings and belief on any form he/she knows how. Freedom of expression is one of the most valuable privilage any human being can have. As long as you exercise it without hurting or disturbing anyone negatively, you are allowed to blog about anything you want to write... or put facebook shoot-out as offten as you want... or even change your chat status every minute. No one can stop you, that's your right! Sometimes life is a damn if you do, damn if you don't cycle. If you are sad, people talks... if you are happy, the more they talk too. So where will we put ourselves anymore?

So what better way to do but to go ahead with your usual life and pray that these people will get a life and just simply fuck off!!

And rant mode ends here....

My November Long Weekend...

November 27 is Hari Raya Haji and considers as one of the public holidays here in Singapore. That makes the last week of November 2009 a long weekend. Hooray!
.
.
Thursday:
.
Went Kha Restaurant for some cocktail with my man. It was our second time here actually (though our first time was over dinner), I really love the ambiance and the open deck lounge concept. I specifically requested to be seated on the pink sofa, hehe... Seated together hugging and stargazing over blueberry martini, perfect Baby! It was my man's first time to taste crab and prawn cake, suprisingly he liked it. Of course we also order our ever favorite chicken bbq skewers.

.
Little problem arise when we already paid and noticed we were mistakenly charge 4 martinis instead of only 2. It was actually a 1-for-1 cocktail promo. Goodthing my man saw it and the error was corrected in minutes.

honest mistake of kha - we were charge S$96++ instead of just S$58++
.
.
Friday:
.
Spend quality time with my man the whole morning. Cuddled and talked about exciting things about our forthcoming activities together. Went raffles to get my office laptop then went straight to Mccdo Bedok to book a kiddie party as my birthday treat for my other mommy friends. I initially thought of organizing a couple's lunch or dinner but I decided to prioritize the kids enjoyment - wanted them to have fun. I always get invited on thier birthday so why not invite them for my special day also? So McDonalds for me is the most hassle-free reasonable gathering I can come up.

McDo kiddie party as mommy ybeth turns 32
.
Then went toa payoh and help friends transfer to thier new home. I reached the place and wonder if the old owners are either pig, carabao or horse... The flat was sooooooooooo damn dirty!!! Bigtime cleaning we did. My friends swear that it was not like that when they view the place a month back. My friend called the agent and the conversation goes like this:
.
My friend: the house is so dirty. can you ask someone to clean it and please pay for it.
Agent: it's not dirty, it's on an average ready-to-live condition. oh, you are filipinos right? don't expect too much! you are not australians or caucasians to act like that!
.
Couple of strong words exchanges and my friend hung-up. Sad that after an agent close a deal, he will totally be unaccomodating (well, I'm not generalizing ok. Surely there will be helpful ones too). But hey, it's not about the race. Being a Filipino means we can tolerate dirt and foul smell? Only nationalities of first world counrty deserves to be hypersentive to clean living? Again, it's not about the race, it's about hygiene, it's about proper sanitation regardless of who you are. Especially for my friend's case, she paid well enough for a flat she liked only to face horrible hand-over. But what to do? Don;t wanna be stress anymore so spent 3 hours cleaning, girl-power-style! Whew!

Reached another friend's place at 8pm for her 2nd tattoo party. I arrived and 7 people are still on que for being inked. Met new friends again. I was so tempted to customize my recent tattoo but I diciplined myself not to. Just did alot of chit-chat, eating and drinking.

.
Went home at 1pm. Went online and talk to my man for a little while then went to sleep at 3am.

Saturday:

Clean room and laundry my clothes morning. Went back to my friend's new toa payoh home for lunch at 12nn. Though little foul smell is still there, the flat is already clean and looking like home for human beings now. Hehe... Had mega lunch of sauted prawn, fried salted fish, steamed kangkong and pork stew. Did some picture taking and watch several filipino movies over wall's vanilla ice cream. Fun!

our hearty lunch

they set-up a purple-themed christmas tree
.
Met another friend at 4pm and went john little sale at singapore expo. It was so crowded and big-time shopping is not my priority right now. So after satisfying my eyes with lots of window-shopping, we proceeded to giant tampines for my weekly grocery. Dinner of ikea's famous swedish meatballs and I'm home at 10:30pm.

Sunday:

Woke up at 7:30am to prepare my man's breakfast in bed. Spent another quality time with him before I proceed to Bedok for my kiddie birthday treat (will make a separate blog about this McDonalds party).
